Organisation culture is the key to much that
happens (or does not happen) in a business or other organisation. Culture pervades all the
relationships which underpin the organisation and influences all its decisions. We use a
range of approaches - from questionnaires to more expressive means - to diagnose and make
explicit the current culture. We then offer tailored approaches to help organisations work
with their current culture to change it appropriately.
We offer innovative approaches to organisation change,
drawing on the latest findings from the study of complex living systems. Whether we are
dealing with organisational culture, or with the relations between different parts of an
organisation, or with the development of a team, we always try to focus on the whole
organisation and the impact of changes in one area on the functioning of other areas.
Effective team working is increasingly important for
flexible and adaptive organisations. But becoming a high performance team is not easy and
may not be necessary. We work with organisations to help them discover the appropriate
level of team working for the tasks required. Then we offer tailored approaches which will
help them achieve their goals.
We have found that
one-to-one coaching and mentoring can be extraordinarily effective in helping
developing leaders to blossom and thrive. Our experience as coaches is that it
can be an essential component of an effective change initiative.
Planning is still important in the new paradigm but the
emphasis is on learning to adapt rather than predicting the future. Strategic planning,
business planning, marketing planning: all are useful to the development of effective
organisational life. They do not have to be difficult, complicated or boring! We offer
creative and fun approaches to planning which help to make them real and relevant in the
life of the organisation. We can use all the jargon if you want, but our experience is
that most organisations are happier using simple language and approaches. The results are
at least as good!
The quality of relationships in organisations is crucial.
Facilitation can help make the work of groups easier and much more productive. As skilled
facilitators we can also work with a group to help their long-term development so that
they become more effective. Indeed, if complexity theory offers us an underpinning to the
way we approach our work and design our interventions, facilitation is the key to the way
we actually interact with client organisations.
Although we are not a 'training company' we do have
particular expertise in a number of areas of management development including performance
management and presentation skills. We also offer workplace counselling and facilitation
training.
